MANUAL CONTROL OPERATION

The CRM-F roaster models operate in a simple and efficient way and are composed of the following elements: a cocoa bean feeding hopper, a roasting drum, an oven with a gas burner, a cyclone for collecting chaff, and a cooler.

HOW IT WORKS

The receiving hopper feeds the cocoa beans and doses them to the roasting drum. The flow of hot air gradually heats and roasts the cocoa to perfection due to a continuous rotating movement aided by a sophisticated internal design and special mixing paddles to ensure the cocoa beans are constantly moving, changing position, and uniformly benefit from the circulating hot air. The roasted cocoa is then delivered to the cooler sieve, where they are quickly brought to the right temperature to lock in their flavor and aroma.

The roasting process is the most important factor that affects the final product. The end result will not as expected if the roasting is not correctly done. A slower roasting is more appropriated for cocoa beans and dry fruits, as they are more delicate. The perfect roast depends on the proper control of the drum speed, the burner power and the hot air circulation.

MANUAL WITH DATA LOGGER PROFILE

The CRM-F can be prepared for roasting profile with Cropster or Artisan.

This type of software is a datalogger that records the exhaust temperature ‘air flow’ (ET), the bean temperature (BT), the Rate-of-Rise (RoR) and the roasting curves. However, to be able to repeat these records you will have to control it manually.
